Lost River Caverns field trip

When the tour started, the tour guide told us the rules. "Do not touch or move any rocks." This was just one of the more important rules. We went inside the real cave and we went to the steps. There the tour guide said that we were 100 feet below the surface! It was freezing cold! The tour guide showed us stalactites and stalagmites and explained that when they touch it is called a column. The cave had three pets (rock formations that looked like animals). They were a turtle, a shark and a whale! The guide also told us about the Queen's room which was completely submerged in water. She told us that there were pictures of this room above the fireplace in the entryway. Our last stop in the cave was at the river. They have never been able to determine where the river comes out. They have dropped ping-pong balls into the river with their phone numbers on and asking to contact the cave if found, but they have not received any calls to date.
